Committees

Law Evaluation Committee: The Law Evaluation Committee explores changes in law (statutory, regulatory and judicial) and its effect and disseminates the information to the appropriate parties.

Legislative Committee: The Legislative Committee is charged with the review of the proposed or newly enacted legislation impacting the industry. It shall communicate with the Law Evaluation Committee, the Board of Governors, and such parties as the Board may designate.

Liaison Committee: The Liaison Committee shall be the liaison with other professional groups, trade groups, the New Jersey Department of Insurance and the public for the purpose of fostering good will, education, and mutual understanding.

Convention Committee: The Convention Committee shall consist of the Vice President, the Secretary-Treasurer and such other members, if any, that the Chairman designates. The Second Vice President shall be Chairman.

The Executive Committee: The Executive Committee shall be composed of the President, First Vice President, Second Vice President and Secretary-Treasurer of the Association with the President serving as Chairman. The Executive Committee shall have the power to act for and on behalf of the Association with respect to any matter of the Association which requires attention prior to the next scheduled Board of Governors meeting.

The Finance Committee: The Finance Committee shall be composed of three active members and two agency section member, none of whom shall be current officers of the Board of Governors of the Association. Within sixty (60) days after the end of each fiscal year, the Finance Committee shall audit the financial records of the Association and report its finding to the Board of Governors. The Finance Committee shall also consult with the President and the Executive Director in preparation of the Association budget.

Education Committee: The Education Committee may undertake programs of an educational nature for the benefit of the members of the Association and of the public. This Committee shall also consult with the New Jersey Department of Insurance with respect to issues relating to the educational requirements for licensing.

The Planning Committee: The Planning Committee shall study conditions and trends in the title insurance industry in New Jersey on a continuing basis.

The Nominating Committee: The Nominating Committee shall report to the Board of Governors at the Board meeting next preceding the Annual Meeting a slate of nominees for each office of the Association and thereupon be discharged.
